![]() Slate Engraved Failte Welcome Plaque 812603P The slate Failte plaque is (8" x 12"), and has predrilled mounting holes. Because of the natural variations in the color of each piece of slate, the one shown is representative of the range of greenish / gray color shades that could be used. Although the exact color of the slate within this color range cannot be guaranteed, the slate plaque shown here seems to appear a little greener when viewed on the computer, than in real life. The color of the engraving is as shown. The general limitations on the total number of characters/spaces that can be engraved on the slate are as shown, however there is some flexibility. If you have questions on engraving give us a call or send us an email (phone#, and address at top of page). |
Fáilte is a word with the same spelling and pronunciation in both the Irish language and the Scottish Gaelic language. It means "welcome". This word appears in the Irish phrase céad míle fáilte (one hundred thousand welcomes) as well as the similar Scottish phrase ceud mìle fàilte .
We have two versions of the Fáilte welcome plaque (engraved slate shown at left or cast aluminum shown below). Either the slate or cast aluminum version of this Fáilte plaque will make an ideal and lasting (one of a kind) gift for your Irish or Scottish friends. These plaques are particularly good for weddings, housewarmings, or anniversaries.
